All testing is carried out in accordance with current BS EN 13829 standards.<\/p>\n<h3><strong>What is air permeability tightness pressure testing?<\/strong><\/h3>\n<p>Air permeability tightness pressure testing is a method of measuring and quantifying the air leakage of a building. Too much air leakage leads to heat loss resulting in higher C02 emissions. Reducing C02 emissions is the purpose of \u2018Part L\u2019 of the new building regulations through air tightness testing,\u00a0<strong>air leakage testing<\/strong> and air permeability testing.<\/p>\n<h3>Why test for air tightness pressure?<\/h3>\n<p>For all new domestic housing a proportion must be Air pressure tested\u00a0 as required in accordance with the guidance given in Part L1A \u2013 Conservation of fuel and power in new dwellings of the Building Regulations. Testing the air tightness of existing dwellings can highlight areas of problems that can be treated cost effectively to improve the energy efficiency of the dwelling as a whole.<br \/><br \/>Air Tightness Testing (AKA Air Permeability Testing Air Leakage Testing, Air Pressure testing) is the test to measure the rate at which air leaks through the external building fabric.<\/p>\n<p>It\u2019s not only important to consider the air tightness to determine how energy efficient a building is, but it is also a mandatory component of Building Regulations in the UK since 2006.Trace Surveys performs accredited Air Tightness Testing, and all our tests comply with the current standards.<\/p>\n<h2 class=\"elementor-element elementor-element-176678f slider-heading elementor-widget elementor-widget-heading\" data-id=\"176678f\" data-element_type=\"widget\" data-widget_type=\"heading.default\">Trace is able to provide Air Tightness testing for both Level 1 and Level 2 properties.<\/h2>\n<p><strong>Level 1<\/strong>: For dwellings (or other non-residential premises) less than or equal to 4000 m2 gross envelope area.<\/p>\n<p><strong>Level 2<\/strong>: For (usually) commercial buildings greater than 4000 m2 gross envelope area.<\/p>\n<p>Our experienced technicians can be mobilised at short notice, and we\u2019ll work with client program.
